GEORGE K. FOURLAS received the B.S. in Physics from Patras University, Greece, in 1991, the M.Sc. degree in Control of Industrial Processes from the University Paris XII, France in 1993 and the Ph.D. degree in Fault Diagnosis of Hybrid Systems from Mechanical Engineering Department at National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece in 2003. He is currently Professor with Thessaly University, Computer Science and Telecommunications Department, where he directs the RCS (Robotics and Control Systems) Lab. He is the author of two books (Applied Control & Microcontrollers), more than 45 articles and holds one patent. His research interests include Fault Diagnosis, Fault Tolerant Control, Robotics, Reliability Analysis, Hybrid Control Systems, Air Traffic Management Systems and Embedded Systems.

Dr. George C. Karras

Assistant Professor

GEORGE C. KARRAS is an Assistant Professor at University of Thessaly,Computer Science and Telecommunications Department. He received a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering in 2003 (NTUA), a Master’s Degree in Robotics and Automatic Control in 2006 (NTUA) and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering in 2011 (NTUA). He has more than 15 years of experience working on R&D projects in the field of Robotics and Embedded Control Systems both in Academic Institutes and Industry. He has published close to 50 papers in journals and fully refereed international conferences.
